National Hamburger Month giveaway #2 – PYT

May 11th, 2010 · 21 Comments · National Burger Month, NoLibs, PYT, burger, giveaways

Oh hey! I know I’m a day late with this but I’M ON VACATION SO GIVE ME A BREAK! I’m sure you all were checking the internets all day yesterday to see if I posted it. Right? Of course. Sorry, I was busy lunching on the beach and going to Medieval Times. Los Angeles is a wondrous place. Just look at the cup I drank out of tonight.

Yup I drank out of this and it was awesome.

Ok this has nothing to do with National Hamburger Month but I’m kind of obsessed with it and I just needed to share. IT’S MY BLOG AFTERALL. Wow I’m so shouty tonight, I blame it on all the medievalness I experienced tonight. Also the half chicken I ate using my hands and one napkin.

Let’s get to business. It’s another week of May and that means I have another awesome giveaway. This week is brought to you by the letters P, Y and T. Mmmhmm. FWTS and PYT know each other intimately. Uh I mean well. Uh I mean, I’ve eaten there a lot and the staff there have witnessed me stuffing my face with burgers on several occasions. You might remember my failed attempt at eating all of their burgers of the week. I think I got to 5 weeks. You try it, it’s harder than you would think. FWTS has written about PYT on numerous occasions and you can find them all here.

PYT burger

PYT has created a great adaptation of a west coast style burger and it definitely hits the spot when I am in need of that kind of burger. They have also been creating a special burger each week and here is one from the past that I really enjoyed. This was their first burger of the week and it was served during Thanksgiving. I’ve been counting the days for November to return in hopes that this burger will return as well. It’s the only kind of turkey burger I will eat. Note: I DON’T BELIEVE IN TURKEY BURGERS AS A RULE.

PYT Thanksgiving turkey burger

So what have I got for you this week as a giveaway? Tommy Up, the king of PYT industries, has generously donated a $50 gift certificate. Oh man that could buy you some burgers, fries AND a boozy milk shake. Get crazy! So leave a comment below with a description of your very own burger of the month. Like if you were a burger what would it be. I would definitely be a Double Double animal style. I know it isn’t original but it fits. I will be accepting comments till noon on Thursday. Again, please make sure to leave an email address so I can contact you if you win. I will be announcing the winner on Friday. Yay burger giveaways!

WINNER WILL BE PICKED AT RANDOM. Sorry there seemed to be some confusion with the last giveaway but I use Random.org to pick a winner at random.

Ruben burger: swiss cheese, sauerkraut, russian dressing.

My burger of the week would be:

    a breakfast burger –
a patty with corned beef hash and a sunny side up egg on top, served with home fries.

  • nikki

If I were a burger, I would be a medium rare, sorta thin-cut beef patty on a sesame seed bun with 1 1/2 slices of american cheese, one slice of tomato, and one leaf of butterhead lettuce, with a layer of thousand island dressing on the bottom bun. Also I would come with fries. Simple, but still waters run deep, or something.

This reminds me of an elementary school art project, and I kinda wish it was one! I miss construction paper.

If I were a burger I would also be medium rare. But I’d be two thinner patties, 5 guys style, with pepperjack cheese (CRACK!!) mushrooms and onions, two really thin slices of a fresh jersey tomato, a piece of bibb lettuce and heaping pile of ketchup on the side for dipping. I’d also come with some mixture of crispy seasoned french fries and onion rings. I would also have really good breath.

If I were a burger I would be medium well, seasoned with ranch dressing mix and cracked pepper. I’d be topped with sharp cheddar, jersey tomatoes, butter lettuce, avocado, ketchup and two strips of crispy bacon. I’d be served on a toasted King’s Hawaiian Sweet Roll with a side of fries seasoned with Tony Sachers.

I’d be full of sodium, delicious delicious sodium.

I couldn’t tell you what kind of burger I would be in my next life, but I pitched a chicken tikka masala burger to Tommy when he started up the BOTW thing. A ground chicken patty mixed with raita so it doesn’t dry out, grilled and then dipped in tikka masala sauce, then topped with more raita, cucumber slices, pickled onions (the ones that are deep red), and green sauce (I don’t know what the green sauce is called). Serve it with mini samosas. It would save/change lives.

I would be a Top Notch Beef Burger. Thin patty fried with American cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and grilled onions. I would then pick off the the lettuce & tomato and add ketchup and mustard. I would be accompanied by perfectly seasoned hand cut french fries. Oh my, I’m making my mouth water just writing about me.

  • kt

for sure i would be a green jalapeno burger

1/3 pound perfectly seasoned patty, on the slim side topped with melted queso and roasted/grilled green chilis. maybe a little tomatillo salsa for good measure.

served with fresh onion as desired.

    oh, and fries.

    yum.

  • Aubre

HOly shit Fidel Gastro. I just fainted from that tikka masala burger description.

  • Amy

My BOW would be a turkey burger, made meatloaf style with honey mustard and diced onions in the meat. Top it with swiss & avocado and serve with sweet potato fries.

  • Jillian

If I were a burger, I’d be really cheesy, with an enjoyable special sauce that can’t quite be identified- but it isn’t Russian dressing or Miracle Whip. I’d also be square shaped. And of course, I’d always be fresh (you know, like my rhymes.)

It takes a very special burger to overcome my weirdness about ground beef. The Witch burger from http://www.thewitchbistro.com slayed me, and so I’ll cite it as my perfectburger. Thick cut smoked bacon, bleu cheese, and caramelized onions adorn their thick juicy patty (I ordered mine medium rare), served on one helluva tasty and hearty bun. It came with hand-cut shoestring fries, and I wonder if PYT can top THAT, dang!

  • Colleen @ sweetswallows

I’d totally be the Thanksgiving Burger. I put cranberry sauce on everything!! I’m waiting for that to come back around too; I missed it the first time. Also, I think I’d add a layer of grilled sweet potatoes to it, or serve sweet potato fries. NOM NOM NOM

  • Taylor

I’m a pimento cheese veggie burger, for sure! That’s a regular ol’ grocery store bun smeared with Duke’s mayo, then topped with a grilled portabello cap, homemade pimento cheese, lettuce, and tomato.

  • lyndsey

my personal burger of the week: medium with lettuce, tomato, fried egg, ketchup, mustard. awesome.

Taking a cue from a New England Lobster Roll and my obsession with Surf/Turf plates . . . my burger would be a duo – Pop Burger-sized. One being a perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked burger, complete with lettuce, tomato and fresh dill pickle chip, on a buttery bun. The other being a lobster burger – comprised of perfectly steamed lobster meat. Served on a light, airy toasted bun, reminiscent of a New England Lobster Rolls. Yum…

  • Shaun

Mine would be a Bulgogi Burger… ground 80/20 mixed with minced, marinated bulgogi (or regular sliced bulgogi on top of a patty), topped with chopped kimchi, kosher dill pickle slices, american cheese, and kwepie mayo.

  • ThadS

If I were a burger, I would be medium rare, loosely packed, and stuffed with some sort of stinky cheese. My neighbors upstairs would be onion of some kind (no discrimination!), and they would likely be smothered in some kind of thousand islandish special sauce, with would contain horseradish.
