the inaugural meeting of the burger club this sunday has got me thinking about, well, you know. and this article in New York magazine (scanned below) is driving me burger bananas. why does philly seem to be seriously lacking traditional burger joints? can anyone answer that? am i missing some gems that die hard fans don’t want to give up to the masses? i’m talking about greasy spoons with fantastic burgers, hand cut fries, and thick, disgustingly rich milkshakes. if i ever have the money, i want to open a place just like that. (although i really shouldn’t say it because it’s burger baroness’ dream, too.)
so i want to try every single burger featured below, but i’m not about to go all the way to nyc for them. screw that. (someday i might though. shhhh.) for now, i’m just going to have to wait until sunday to give in to my cravings. i can’t wait to find some of the best burgers in the city. join us, won’tcha?
