What a delicious combination. I was recently in NYC for a show at Webster Hall. I always visit my favorite burger blog, when traveling, to see if there were any good burgers nearby. I was fortunate enough to be near a recently reviewed burger joint called Blue 9 Burger. I was dying to try it because the reviewer mentioned that it was similar to the burgers at In-N-out and that is pretty much music to my ears.
I ended up initally eating their double cheeseburger medieval style (very similar to In-N-Out’s animal style) and fries. I also later eneded up eating a single cheese in the same styling as my first burger. They were both very good burgers. Their special sauce is a little different than the traditional thousand island dressing, it is more of a tangy chili sauce. I found that I actually liked the burger as a single because the meat to bun ratio was better. I wished I had tried the basic single cheeseburger wiithout all the fixins. I was also impressed with the pickles that they put on the burger. I am not generally a fan of pickles on a burger but these were super fresh and tasty. I might just be a convert now. Don’t pass up the fries because they were equally tasty.
I won’t say that this burger was as good as In-N-Out but I do wish there was one in Philly so I could eat one of them every coupla weeks. It would definitely partially satisfy my ongoing craving for my precious In-N-Out.
